Who am I?

My Approach
What keeps me in this profession is not the technique, even though I have given it years, but something I understood long before I could name it: letting someone touch your body is a considerable act of trust, one whose weight is rarely measured, since you entrust your skin, which is our largest organ and the border between ourselves and everything else, to hands you barely know.
We live so busy that many people go weeks without anyone touching them, sometimes without so much as an embrace, and there are regions of our own body that almost never receive conscious attention, the side of the ribs, the inside of the arms, certain areas of the back or the legs; when a hand passes there with respect and intention, it is not only the muscle that changes, it is the way we perceive ourselves.
That is why a session never begins with pressure, but with a hand that settles without pressing, simply to tell the body it is there, because a body forewarned lets go while a body taken by surprise defends itself, and those first few seconds often decide everything that follows.
Each session also begins with a conversation, so as to understand what you are looking for and to adapt the work to what your body asks for that day, with no protocol decided in advance.
Today I have the technique, the training and the experience, but no technique replaces the quality of touch: before it is a skill, massage is a presence.
There are things you learn without ever noticing, and for me it began long before I knew what a massage was.
My mother would come home tired from work and ask me to climb onto her back, so I would walk slowly along her spine, then move down towards her legs, knowing nothing of pressure or anatomy, simply because she told me she felt better afterwards. To me it was only a child's game; to her, it was the one moment of the day when something let go.
Later, when my daughters were very small and colic or restlessness kept them from settling, my hands took the same path again, more gently this time, and I understood without putting it into words that a gesture can say what no words can say at that age, that it conveys presence, safety, and that a body at ease needs no explanations
.
Then life took its course, I left Brazil, I changed countries and occupations several times, and all of that stayed asleep somewhere for years.
What woke it was not a decision but a repetition: very different people, with no reason to be comparing notes, all told me the same thing about my hands, about the release they found in them and did not find elsewhere, and when the same sentence comes back often enough, it becomes difficult to go on not hearing it. It was others who recognised something in me before I recognised it myself, and I simply decided to listen to them.
So I studied, seriously and at length, because intuition alone is not enough and because I wanted to understand what I was already doing without knowing why it worked, learning deep pressure, working with the feet, Shiatsu, Ashiatsu, Sarga Bodywork, then cupping, hot stones and bamboo, not out of a taste for accumulation but because each tool answers a question the hands alone do not resolve.
And the more I learned, the more I wanted to learn.
